Community and Educational Outreach
The Local 17 Music Fund provides funding for community concerts free and open to the public. In 2018 the Music fund and the Music Performance Trust Fund (MPTF) will provide funding for the Mid-day Art Breaks presented by the Eire Philharmonic and the Erie Art Museum as well as concerts presented by local church groups.
The music fund would like to expand its community outreach to include concerts and workshops designed to introduce elementary school age children to jazz and classical music by providing concerts and workshops that would otherwise be unavailable.
Music Lessons
In the future (funding permitted) the Music Fund would like to provide music lessons to under served students who are unable to afford the cost of instruments and/or music lessons.
